





The 2015 Pan American Games take place in Toronto this year from July 10th through 26th, and the action is already hot. Bowling in particular is becoming a more respectable and challenging sport since its recent addition to the Games.
When you think of bowling, what images come to mind? Many people immediately think of fun times with friends, laughing at their mistakes, eating pizza and drinking beer. However, bowling is fast becoming a true athletic pursuit. Bowlers take their games seriously. They practice and compete throughout the year and meticulously prepare for the Pan Am Games.
Look for 28 men and 28 women in the singles bowling events; the doubles include 14 teams for each gender. Athletes hail from the Canadian north to South America’s tip in Argentina and Chile.

As the men’s and women’s singles games get started, one thing is certain: there is plenty of bowling talent in Toronto right now. US and Canadian bowlers are possibly the best prepared to win the events, mainly because they’ve lived in countries where bowling is a common pastime.
Men’s and women’s doubles bowling events take place on July 22nd at Planet Bowl in Toronto. Finals for doubles are on the 23rd. At the same location, men’s and women’s singles are happening on July 24thwith finals on the 25th. So far the USA has 77 gold medals followed by Canada which has 65, Brazil 32, Cuba and Colombia with 25 gold medals. From then on Monday July 13th until Sunday July 26th we will be closed completely to the public for the Games! You may still be able to purchase PanAm Games tickets here however they are in short supply as most dates have sold out already!
