Bringing This Popular Sport to the Next Level

When you think of bowling, what images come to mind? Many people immediately think of fun times with friends, laughing at their mistakes, eating pizza and drinking beer. However, bowling is fast becoming a true athletic pursuit. Bowlers take their games seriously. They practice and compete throughout the year and meticulously prepare for the Pan Am Games.

The Athletes

Look for 28 men and 28 women in the singles bowling events; the doubles include 14 teams for each gender. Athletes hail from the Canadian north to South America’s tip in Argentina and Chile.
